Heather A. McCabe is an Assistant Professor at the Indiana University School of Social Work. She also serves as adjunct professor at both the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis and the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. She holds a BA in Psychology and English from Indiana University – Bloomington, an MSW from Indiana University School of Social Work, and a JD from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. She served as a social worker at Riley Hospital for Children, a pediatric tertiary care hospital, working primarily in the area of children with developmental disabilities. As well as providing direct care, she has served in the policy arena as the Executive Director for the William S. and Christine S. Hall Center for Law and Health at the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. She now works in both practice and policy in her role at the IU School of Social Work. Her research interests are primarily in interprofessional collaboration, health policy, public health, civics, and disability.
