Biography
Rachel Thelin is a senior policy analyst with the Indiana University Public Policy Institute (PPI) and project manager with the Center for Civic Literacy. Since joining the PPI in 2000, she has assisted a variety of nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies with project design and implementation, data collection and management, data analyses, interpretation, synthesis, and reporting of findings which are not only relevant to clients and funders, but often have policy implications. Her research skills include the ability to perform statistical and spatial analyses, lead and supervise primary and secondary data collection, conduct large and targeted survey design and implementation, and ensure data reliability and validity. She has applied her research skills in a number of areas including public safety, civic literacy and engagement, criminal justice program assessment, and quality of life issues. Thelin holds a Master of Arts degree in International Studies from the University of Denver and Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Goshen College.
